A Mobridge woman convicted of manslaughter has requested a reduction in her sentence.

Nicole Mulligan was found guilty last year in the 2002 fatal shooting of 34-year-old Richard Goldade in the home they shared.  Mulligan was sentenced to 35 years in prison, with 17 years suspended. She will be eligible for parole in seven and a half years.  Mulligan's lawyers argued at her trial that the shooting was an accident.

Prosecutors said Mulligan killed Goldade because she worried that he would learn about the $37,000 in debt she rang up without his knowledge, mostly on his credit cards.

Whatever lady they should of made you stay the whole term and not taken off 17 years. You killed someone and you need to pay for that crime. Make her serve the time.
