NW Iowa Man Dies In Fire

Fire officials say they discovered the body of Spencer man after an electric space heater caused a sofa at his apartment to start on fire.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at about 12:00 a.m. Friday and found the body of 59-year-old Wayne Weler Sr. in the kitchen.

An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death.
Fire officials say they are investigating the cause of the fire,
which began in a living area of the main floor of the house. The
fire has been determined to be accidental.

Damage to the home was estimated at $25,000.
