This mug shot of actor Vinnie Jones taken last week after he was arrested for a Sioux Falls bar fight.

But the fact that we can show you this picture is now the subject of a Sioux Falls Police Department investigation.

Mug shots taken by Sioux Falls Police are never suppose to be made public: it's a department policy;

So how celebrity news web site TMZ got it's hands on Vinnie Jones' mugshot is anybody's guess.

They're not revealing their source. We asked.

Sioux Falls Police Chief Doug Barthel wants to know.

He and I traded e-mails today and he told me in part:

"That picture is in our records system that can be accessed by several criminal justice entities. There are hundreds of people that would have access to it. Finding the responsible person will be difficult, but we are looking into it."

Security camera video of the December 4th fight between Jones and Jesse Bickett of Montrose has hit "You Tube": in the upper right hand corner, you see Jones and Bickett start to fight while a hallway security cam catches Jones fighting with one of Bickett's friends with Jones covered in blood: all of it happening inside "Wiley's Tavern" in Sioux Falls.

We tried reaching Jones for comment this afternoon but calls to his agent in Los Angeles were not returned.

Anybody can access those records, who cares anyway. A "better than you" bigshot actor getting a down to earth spanking from a good old South Dakota Boy. Way to go Bickett for standing up for yourself.

An employee is not following protocol. Put out a reward. This should not be too hard to solve with a department full of investigators. Don't forget that this guy is innocent until proven otherwise. Nobody deserves to have confidential records released so the whole world can gawk at them. I see a lawsuit coming up soon!
