The South Dakota Health Department reports a third case of salmonella linked to peanut butter.

The three cases involve children ages 1 to 8 from different parts of the state.

State epidemiologist Lon Kightlinger said the children were sick enough to see a doctor but didn't require hospitalization. Most people infected with salmonella develop diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps 12 to 72 hours after infection.

Kightlinger said the most recent case was traced to a peanut butter product that's on the recall list. He said the food history of the first two victims is less clear.

Nationally, the outbreak has killed six and sickened at least 486 people in more than 40 states.

This is getting a little bit out of control. We have had to many illness and death due to some morons not doing their job and checking these foods before going to market. Whoever is in charge of the food inspections needs to be fired and the great new Pres better get on his game and start doing something about this and not worry so much about changing all the right things the past Pres. put into place for your and mine protection again terrorist.
