School District Dissolution Up For A Vote

By Associated Press

Residents of the Carthage School District will decide whether to dissolve the district and transfer the land to four other school districts.

The state Department of Education has approved the plan. It will take effect if approved by the district's voters Tuesday.

The proposal divides the 150-square-mile Carthage district among the Sanborn Central, Iroquois, De Smet and Howard school districts.

The Carthage High School closed several years ago.
