Bond was set at $500,000 Tuesday for a man charged with second-degree murder in Watertown.

22-year-old David Amotun is charged in the death of 18-year-old Brandy Jean Cotton, which whom he once had a relationship. She was found dead in her grandmother's Watertown home Friday morning.
     
Amotun made his first court appearance Tuesday. A judge said a court-appointed attorney will be chosen and he scheduled a
preliminary hearing for February 17th.
   
Amotun was arrested in Sioux Falls early Saturday after a brief vehicle chase.
