Man Dies in Crash Near Springfield, SD

A Springfield man died last night in a crash in Bon Homme County. 61 year old Michael C. Papiernik lost control of the Ford Tempo he was driving, entered the ditch, and rolled. The crash happened approximately one mile north and 6.5 miles east of Springfield on Apple Tree Road around 6:45 p.m.

Papiernik was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
