Captain Becky Hoffman volunteered as a logistics specialist, and was directly responsible for more than 300,000 pieces of equipment worth over $18 Million. Hoffman has now completed her second tour of duty, this time, after nine months in kuwait.

Moments before her arrival, family and friends gathered at Joe Foss Field, awaiting the reunion; "we're definitely anxious...we're just very glad she's coming home safe.  We're very proud," said Gary Stender, who eagerly awaited the arrival of his daughter.

And then, the moment.  Captain Becky Hoffman had arrived. Greeted by members of the Patriot Guard Riders. "It's fantastic. I'm excited....I'm without words," stated Hoffman. Regarding the host of on-lookers waiting in the airport lobby; "appreciating friends and family is the most important thing for me," Hoffman noted.  To her, family goes beyond blood; "the Guard is a family. We're all brothers and sisters. You love each other, you hate each other...you fight."

In the end, Hoffman says her service is an honor and cannot think of a better way to be welcomed home; "proud of your service, proud of your community, proud that they come out to see you." Through it all, the Captain says she wouldn't trade any of it in. "I enjoy wearing the uniform. It's what I'm meant to be. I enjoy serving."
