Child Suffers Unspeakable Injuries, George, IA Couple in Custody

Tools

A mother and her husband are in custody in Lyon County, IA tonight after her five year old son suffered unspeakable injuries, including wounds from a hammer.

Nikki Moreno, and her husband, Juan Carlos Moreno, of George, IA are both charged with child endangerment.

the Lyon County Sheriff says her 5-year old son suffered a broken eye socket and a stab in the back from the claw of a hammer. The child also had bite marks and volleyball size scab on his back that may have been from a burn.

Authorities say some of the injuries may have been caused by the child's six year old brother.

Both are in custody tonight on 10 thousand dollars bond.

These people need to hang that is all there is to it. If the 6 yr old did any of this he needs to be punished as well and they need to be held accountable for his actions as well, he obviously has learned this from someone ?? HIS PARENT'S

these people need to pray for forgivness from the Lord above because he is proably the only one who will forgive such un thinkable behavior, I'm sure the rest of us would love to see them rot and suffer as that poor baby did. my prayers are for those innocent boys may God protect them and comfort them. These boys should never be allowed to return to those parents !

The people of George are just as horrified by this story. I have lived here all my life, and I do not know these people, I have no idea where they come from. The Worthington Paper today had a much more in depth article on this. This woman apparently has 5 children, and all but these two have been given to family members. Why this was not done for these two little boys, I don't know. I have heard much speculation on punishment befitting this mother, I for one am in total agreement. eye for eye

That is sick what happen to that little boy.I hope that the parents will spend life inprison. They need to suffer like that little boy is suffering. I have a 5 year old and I could not imagen my life without him and my other children. Even though the are naughty I could not do something like that. I will pray for the little boy and his brother.

hold up!! re read it, it says SOME of the injuries may have been caused by the 6 yr old. So yes these parents are def to blame!!

I'm not defending the parents in any way because I think they deserve to rot in prison..but actually a six year old could do this on his own...the youngest child to commit premeditated murder was 6 years old..he killed a girl on the playground for spitting on him!!!!

I was horrified to see this. Why are these parents not being charged with aggrevated assualt? It is sad to accuse the 6yr. brother. Did any one stop to think the parents were forcing him to do this? No 6yr old on their own would think of this on their own. Another question, Why is the bond Only set at 10,000? Why not 100,000? These little boys need to be loved and kept safe.

Friday, Apr 3 at 2:55 PM DT wrote ...

Yes, it's the parents fault even if it was the brother that caused the injuries. The parents need to lose their custody and those boys need to be placed in a loving home before it's too late.

Friday, Apr 3 at 2:26 PM Marine wrote ...

I agree with most of what was said, but some of you are jumping to conclusions. The story says that the injuries were believed to have been inflicted Not by the parents but by his Brother. Yes the parents are responsible for this due to how they were raising the boys. But if we accuse the parents of attempted murder, soon you'll need to bring accusations against the neighbors, the school, the local hospital, and the police. I just hope that each of the boys get the help that they need.

Her uterus should be pulled from her body this minute; without anestesia! Her hands and feet should be cut off and she should be placed in a dark room with a 52" plasma blaring old tapes of Jimmy Swaggert at top volume. Her fat a** should get 1/2 can of spagetti-o's every other day.

I am asking the same question of, "where was the family, neighbors, ect?" Wasn't the kid in school? Why didn't anyone else see this? He had a VOLLEYBALL size scab on his back! Seriously, someone had to notice he was walking funny or couldn't sit right. OMG, this is so not right, or fair or anything. I have a 7 year old daughter, and I wouldn't even dream of doing anything like that to her. Heck, if I spank her, I feel bad! Parents should be punished to the full extent for this one!

Friday, Apr 3 at 11:05 AM Kim wrote ...

So, why can't the dep of corrections treat them the same way they treated that poor child? An eye for and eye is what I say. Oh wait, there is something like they have to be treated humanely while in custody. That is just not fair. They should be put away in a dark hole for the rest of their pathetic lives. A volleyball sized scab? From a possible burn? OMG! I hope they get jail justice when they are locked up. Inmates don't like child molesters and abusers. Get EM!

How could anyone do that to an innocent child? I'm the Mother of 3 boys, all of which are teenagers now, but I would NEVER DREAM of hurting them like that. I would die without them! They both should be sterilized so they can't have any more kids. I hope the children are taken away and NEVER given back. No one deserves to be treated like that! It doesn't matter what the child did. The children are in my prayers and I hope they are happy and healthy soon!

This is not child ENDANGERMENT. It's ATTEMPTED MURDER!! Put the parents so far back in a prison cell that they will have to be fed with a SLINGSHOT!!!

Where were the grandparents, neighbors, or anyone else. George is a really small town. Didn't anyone notice a poor little kid with burns and bruises and cuts all over him? THIS is why we need the death penalty in Iowa and these are the people who deserve to be sentanced to death. They surely don't deserve to live.

This breaks my heart and makes me so angry. There are so many loving families out there that can't have children and then you have this couple that don't deserve to raise a cockroach! Children are a gift from God that should be loved and shame on anyone that mistreats them!
