Fire Put Out Near Dairy Farm

By Cliff Chandler

Several area fire crews responded to a fire at a dairy farm located just southwest of the Castlewood/Clear Lake exit on I-29 just after 2:00pm Thursday afternoon.  Crews were still mopping up hotspots in the early evening hours.

The grassfire started when a hay bail caught fire. Strong winds quickly spread the flames, threatening the Sunshine Dairy farm. The fire was knocked down before the flames reached any building.
