By Associated Press

Gov. Mike Rounds is urging South Dakota teenagers to stay sober and drive safely.

The governor says a number of teenagers are killed in the spring every year about the time of high school graduation ceremonies. He says many of the fatal accidents involve drivers who have been drinking.

Appearing on the Dakota News Network radio stations, Rounds says
law enforcement officers will try to catch drunken drivers before a
tragedy occurs.

And the governor says parents should tell their children to avoid drinking and driving because the parents do not want to go through life without their kids.
