Aberdeen Shooting Victim Identified, Investigation Continues

By KSFY News

We know the identity of the victim in a fatal shooting in Aberdeen on Wednesday night. Shaun Davis, an 18 year old graduate of Aberdeen Central high school, died from a single gunshot wound inside an Aberdeen apartment. The Aberdeen Police Department, Brown County Sheriff's Office, South Dakota DCI and Highway Patrol have all worked on the case. They closed down the apartment for nearly the entire day Thursday in hopes of finding out what happened.

Friends inside the apartment at the time say the shooting was an accident, but Brown County state's attorney Kim Dorsett tells Action News that her office has not ruled anything out and is not releasing any more information.

News of Shaun Davis' death hit Aberdeen Central High School Thursday, which was also the last day of classes for seniors. Friends of Shaun Davis have set up a memorial page on www.facebook.com (go to the "News Links" tab at the top of this page for more information). Many friends and classmates have been sharing their thoughts and prayers. The school also offered counseling to students as the news hit. Principal Jason Uttermark says the timing couldn't be worse.

"They're young people and some of these haven't had to deal with death in their lifetime, let alone a tragic death like this," Uttermark said. "And you know we're just trying to help them through the mourning process and help them mourn appropriately and aid them however we can."

There gonna poke and prod at this to try and pin it on someone just like they tried in 95 to pin Rudy's death on someone when he jumped from the car himself cause he was mad. Although there are witnesses Aberdeen police always say that someone else is at fault and needs to be charged with something somewhere R.I.P Shaun at least u do not have to suffer in hell anymore with the rest of us
