UPDATE: A nasty crash reduced southbound traffic down to one lane on Interstate 29 Sunday night.
It all happened by Exit 81, which is near Russell Avenue in Sioux Falls. According to Metro Communications, it happened at around 5:30 tonight.
SD Highway Patrol Sgt. Steve Swenson says witnesses saw a car with Minnesota plates cruising at more than 100 miles per hour. For whatever reason, the car veered left and flipped several times.
Swenson says 18-year-old Michael Vos of Holland, MN was driving the car. Vos wasn't wearing a seatbelt, so when the car went off the road, he went through the windshield.
Several people stopped to help and area agencies raced to the scene. Medics took Vos and a teen passenger to Sanford Hospital.
Both Vos and the passenger, who's name wasn't released, are in critical condition.
Swenson says that alcohol is believed to be a factor. So, Vos has been charged with DUI.
