The body of 46 year-old Michael Larson was pulled from the Missouri River this afternoon. Larson, who is from Yankton, disappeared 10 days ago while boating on the river.

Larson's boat was found running on a sandbar in the middle of the Missouri River near Running Water, South Dakota with no one on board. Larson's body was found today, about five-point-six miles downstream from where the boat was recovered.

The body of 46 year old Michael Larson was recovered this afternoon around 1:00. They found his body about 5.6 miles downstream from where his boat went missing. "There was a fisherman out on the river who came across Larson's body," said Bon Homme County Sheriff Jason Bechtold.

Michael Larson was last seen 10 days ago and in those 10 days the Bon Homme County Sheriff's office, the Game Fish and Parks and volunteers were searching the Missouri River for his body. Bon Homme County Sheriff Jason Bechtold says it's been a tough search. "It's been a frustrating 10 days. It seems like you're not getting anything done, but we're out there doing the best we can, but it seems like we're not getting anything done, it's been really frustrating that way."

Ten days after the search for Michael began, family and friends no longer have to wonder if Michael will ever be found. "I think it brings closure to the family. It's been a long 10 days for them also. Now they can move on with the next step," said Bechtold.

Of course they were going to find him down river. He wasn't going to float up stream. They could have found him days before had they been smarter.
