Bruce Fire Destroys Two Homes

On Monday morning at around 3:30 the Bruce Fire Department responded to a structure fire at both 405 and 407 Jefferson in Bruce. Both homes were engulfed in flames when first responders arrived and both were a total loss.

Investigators believe the fire started at the home at 405 Jefferson and spread to 407 Jefferson. The fire was able to spread because of the heat and wind at that time. No injuries were reported with the fire as both homes were unoccupied. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time with the Brookings County Sheriff's Office.
