Zachary L. Blawat, 16, of Pipestone, MN, died today as the result of a weekend crash. He was the passenger in a 1994 Ford Probe that crashed at around 5:30 Sunday evening on I-29 in Sioux Falls.

The car was being driven by 18 year old Michael S. Vos, 18, of Holland, MN. Vos lost control of the vehicle, it entered the median and rolled several times. Both Vos and Blawat were ejected from the vehicle. At last report, Vos remained in critical condition.

Neither teen was wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol and speed were both contributing factors in the crash. Initial reports said the vehicle may have been going over 100 mph.

People make me sick that they could hate on anyone in this situation. The only way someone could ever talk bad about Mikey is if he did it on purpose and I don't think any person would ever do this on purpose. I have been in this situation and its called and accident for a reason. No one is to be blamed for the death. RIP and have a successful recovery! Love

You are right nobody made Zach get in the car but Zach didn't push the gas pedal, swerve in traffic, or cause the wreck to happen. Both boys were at fault for being in a car with a drunk driver but a tragedy has happened that was unavoidable had Mikey and Zach used better judgement that horrible day. Everyones life has been affected and that's something we will all have to live with...

It's not only Mikey's fault... Zach wasn't forced in the car. He had a choice to go or not to go. They both were in the wrong... Hope you get better mikey!!

my heart goes out to Zachs family thats just heartbreaking life just isnt fair sometimes is it i will be praying for your family... but i cant say that i feel to bad for mikey that was a stupid stupid thing to do and he will have this on his conscience for the rest of his life, sure it sucks that he is in the icu but zach has passed on all bc of a stupid mistake that could have been prevented if people would only think before they do things but i guess its a big eye opener, tough lesson to learn
