Running For Kids

Tools

By Jim Nelson

Jeff Pickett logged more than 100 miles of running in May. His support comes from a growing number of followers on twitter and a website devoted to running. However, his inspiration comes from his two kids.

As we spend more time outside, we start seeing more runners. One of them is the 41 year old Pickett. It all started about a year ago when his two kids became his inspiration. "I wanted to be sure that I was going to be around for them for a long time to come. And I knew I just needed to get in better shape," says Pickett.

As Vice President of Marketing at Children's Care Hospital in Sioux Falls, health and caring kids are important to Pickett. "There are so many different ways that parents can show their children they love them."

He says the best way for him to do that, is by bettering his health. "I'm investing in my future and their future. We're going to be around for a long time to come."

To follow along with Jeff's journey, visit his website that features his running log.  He's also posted a series of documentary style videos.
