Crews are working to contain and clean up an ammonia leak at a huge meat packing plant in Worthington.

According to Worthington Police Chief Michael J. Cumiskey, a 911 call came in from the JBS Swift and Company plant at around 10:15 today. The caller reported the leak in the processing area of the plant.

Cumiskey says that before any emergency crews arrived, the leak was contained. 15 people, reportedly exposed to the liquid, were rushed to Sanford Hospital in Worthington.

The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Worthington Police Department, Worthington Fire Department and Worthington Ambulance Service provided assistance. They okay'd the scene at just after 11 this morning.
