Making Way For New Lewis And Clark Project Pipelines

By KSFY News

Today's cold, wet weather isn't slowing down progress on a tri-state water project.

Cranes were busy making way for huge pipelines today for the Lewis and Clark water system project. Workers had quite an audience coming in by the bus load. More than 100 people hopped on a bus tour of the tri state project today. When the final pipe is connected more than 300,000 people in south east South Dakota, north west Iowa, and south west Minnesota will be getting water from the Missouri River.

Group directors say the weather isn't dampening their spirits watching this long awaited project nearing completion. Executive Director Troy Larson said, "This is a super opportunity despite the weather for the members to see first hand the progress being made and hey isn't it all about water? So here we are." The last piece of the pipeline is expected to be in the ground this summer.
