SDSU Revises Campus Parking Arrangements

Tools

Reserved parking spots are being eliminated on the South Dakota State University campus in favor of reserved parking lots that offer first-come, first-choice parking.

SDSU Vice President Mike Reger said the reserved spots created problems when drivers not assigned to a spot used it. They'd be mad at getting a ticket while the person who paid for the spot was mad because it was used by someone else.

Now, staff and students who want to pay more for premium parking in the center of campus will be assigned to a specific lot. They
can park anywhere in it but are not guaranteed a specific space. The reserved lots will cost $240 for 10 months.
