Pierre Post Office Suicide Victim Identified

Tools

The FBI has released the name of a man who shot and killed himself Sunday afternoon in the Pierre post office.

The FBI supervisory agent for western South Dakota, Robert Perry, identified the victim as 64-year-old Julian Hayle Brown, an attorney from Pierre.

Perry says Brown walked to the Pierre federal building Sunday afternoon with a shotgun concealed under a long coat.

According to Perry, no one was in the post office area that was open to the public at the time, although other patrons were outside and heard the shot.
