An autopsy was ordered after the body of a missing Lakefield man was found in a wooded area of Belmont Park north of Jackson.

The search for 39-year-old Dale Allen Maine started Saturday night when the Jackson County Sheriff's Office investigated a call about a suspicious vehicle left in the park all day with a door ajar and the dome light on.

Deputies reported the vehicle belonged to Maine, and they reported finding some of his personal items in the shelter house at the park.

The search continued Sunday and again on Monday, when the body was found about 6:30 p.m.

Authorities said foul play is not suspected.
