Health Care Rally Today

By KSFY Staff

Almost ten-thousand people are expected at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds today to attend a health care rally.

Those behind the rally say they want to inform you about socialized Obama administration.

At a brief press conference late speakers and organizers gathered to share their concerns about what a government-run health care system would mean for America.

"We're talking about transforming the way the American public has access to health care services. To me there's nothing more personal than the way that you choose to have yourself taken care of and the care of your loved ones and your family members. And we're talking about potentially changing that for the rest of my natural life and perhaps the rest of the life of the country. I think it's imperative we understand what's being discussed, what its going to cost and how this might change the very way that we experience our life as Americans," said Surgeon R. Blake Curd.

The rally is free to the public and runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, although organizers say the main events start at 12:30.
