Several Dead In US Missile Strike

ISLAMABAD (AP) - Pakistani intelligence officials say 17 people have been killed and 27 others wounded in U.S. missile attacks against a Taliban training facility and a militant communication center.
The two attacks by drone aircraft took place today in South Waziristan, a stronghold of Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud close to the Afghan border.
The attacks took place as U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano met with government officials in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
A U.S. Embassy spokesman says they discussed topics of "mutual interest."
The suspected drone attacks are the latest in more than 40 believed to have been carried out by the United States against militant targets in the border area since last August.
