There's a new use for the Meridian Bridge at Yankton - if only temporary.

The top deck of the double-deck bridge will be used to launch fireworks for the city's fireworks display Saturday evening.

The Meridian Bridge has been replaced by a new bridge over the Missouri River. Efforts continue to turn it into a hiking and biking bridge.
