Fireworks officially on sale to South Dakota residents.

Ron Meyer with Hot Shot Fireworks says some of the most important things you can do while using fireworks is to read the instructions and make sure you're using them in the proper area. If a firework doesn't go off, never go near it to check it.

Meyer says new, clearer instructions and safer wicks have cut down on the number of fireworks-related injuries.
