South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds worked with Governor Palin over the years and today he called her announcement a surprise.

Speaking through a spokesman, Rounds said he's enjoyed working with her and will miss her involvement in the National Governors Association, the Western Governors Association, and the Republican Governors Association.
