Record South Dakota Deer Harvest in 2008Hunter surveys compiled by the state Department of Game, Fish and Parks indicate a record number of deer were killed by South Dakota hunters last year. An estimated 74,000 white-tailed deer and 18,000 mule deer were shot. It's the ninth straight year of increase. Overall harvest success was 48 percent.
