Work Wraps Up On Missouri River BridgeState transportation officials say recently completed work on the Missouri River bridge between Pierre and Fort Pierre should extend the structure's lifespan another 10 to 15 years. The renovation work that started in spring 2008 wrapped up last week. Jim Hyde with the Transportation Department says most of the work focused on shoring up weak points of the bridge, which is more than 45 years old. He says most of the work was done on steel girders and the concrete surface. The project cost about $6 million. Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.
