In Los Angles Monday, everyone is getting ready for two memorial services for Michael Jackson. One will be public and the other will be private for the family.
11 days after his death, more than seventeen thousand Michael Jackson fans now have something to celebrate. With Many wining a highly coveted seat to Tuesday's memorial for the king of pop at the Staples Center.
Monday morning, fans who registered on-line and beat incredible odds, picked up their tickets at dodger stadium. One fan said, " I am overwhelmed with emotion, just driving over here listening to Michael's music, I burst into tears. I can't believe it."
In the battle over Michael Jackson's estate, a judge ruled that his longtime attorney and a family friend should take charge of the pop singer's assets for now, rejecting a request from Jackson's mother.
An attorney for Jackson said, "We believe the judge made the appropriate decision...it's our duty, our obligations, to do everything we can to carry out Michael's wishes."
An August 3rd hearing was set on the authenticity of Jackson's 2002 will. There are now reports they're may be another record of the singer's last wishes--from 1997.
Debbie Rowe, Jackson's second wife and mother of his two oldest children--had originally planned to attend tomorrow's Staples Center memorial service. She has decided not to. A representative says she didn't want to be a distraction.
