McGovern To Be Honored Friday

Former Sen. George McGovern is scheduled to be on hand Friday as the McGovern Library at Dakota Wesleyan University commemorates his 87th birthday.

Organizers say McGovern, a three-term senator and the 1972 Democratic presidential nominee, will talk with people at the library Friday evening.

The free event also includes readings by regional authors.

McGovern's birthday is July 19.
