Panel Mulls Ways to Combine Minn. Pension FundsMinnesota lawmakers are looking at whether it makes sense to fold some public pension funds into others. The Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement convenes The thinking is that such a fund would ease any such mergers. Lawmakers would have to work out where the money would come from to feed the assistance account and what types of costs would be Minnesota currently has three large statewide public retirement plans and many smaller ones.
