Stolen Truck Found In Dell Rapids Trestle

By KSFY Staff

Several emergency crews, including dive teams, responded to a call late Wednesday evening at the Dells Trestle for a truck found upside down, underwater at 24603 Quarry Road in Dell Rapids. The caller said they could only see the tires of the truck. They have since identified the truck as a stolen vehicle.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office says it's a Dodge pickup upside down in the Dells Trestle, though all that could be seen was a rear tire and exhaust pipe. A scuba dive team from Minnehaha County Rescue, Minnehaha County Emergency Management, Dell Rapids Ambulance and the Fire Department all responded to the scene.

Minnehaha County Sheriff's Captain James Hoekman says the vehicle's storm stems from this past Sunday when it was reported stolen. He said he hopes the thief left something behind in the pick-up, because as far as fingerprints and such, they would likely be contaminated because of the water.

How awful. To steal someone's vehicle, then dump it like that. No hope of repair. No hope for replacement. I hope they find the person that stole it and slap him silly then throw him in jail with "Bubba"
