South Dakota Wildland Fire Media Training in Mitchell

Tools

By KSFY Staff

Action News Anchor Brian Allen was in Mitchell on Wednesday for media training sponsored by the South Dakota Wildland Fire Suppression Division. Those are the folks who are in charge when fires break out in the Black Hills.

The training Brian underwent will allow him to cover those fires from the front lines. Most of what he learned was about the role weather plays in helping those fires spread and how to stay out of the way of a moving fire.

Beth Hermanson led the session today and did a good job of teaching about the dangers and uncertainty associated with wildfires.
