Turner County Teen Missing

By KSFY Actions News

A Turner County girl has been reported missing. Renae Lynn Carlson, 17, was last seen on Friday July 10th at midnight.

She is 5’7” tall, has blue eyes, blonde hair and weighs about 130 lbs. She was last seen wearing orange shorts and a purple t-shirt. She resides in the Freeman/Marion area.

Her parents reported her missing Sunday July 12th at 5:30pm. Police are considering her a runaway because she was not abducted and there is no evidence that leads them to believe that she left home against her will, however, her parents are concerned and would like your help.

If you have any information you are urged to call the Turner County Sheriff’s Office at (605) 297-3225.

To the last comment posted, How heartless can you be, you don't even know the details to what happened and you assume she is a "brat" that ran away. To Renae's family my prayers continue to be with your family and Renae and I hope that you don't have to read some of the ignorance that has been written about this story!! Some people obviously need to stop and think what if this was my child?? Be nice people!!!!

She is home and safe, and that should be enough said. None of us know what has or is going on. This business about no amber alert cause no vehicle description is nuts!! Who cares!! If a child is missing issue it anyway. Good grief. Just pray for her and her family they really need it and thank the good Lord if your children are home and safe and you haven't had to go through this hell. Her parents didn't sit on their butts this whole time.

They will not issue an amber alert because they do not have a vehicle description. It is going on the fourth day and still nothing. The family is struggling to make sense of this. Please tell everyone you know to keep their eyes out for Renae. She has to surface sometime, right? I miss her.

To 'Same Turner County Mom'-I beg to different with your post; Kelo still has this story on their site as well. And actually, Kelo posted this story 24 hours earlier than KSFY! So KSFY is a little slow in getting the story our on their site. Im still praying for a safe and quick return of Renae!!

I know Renae's father really well...and theres no doubt in my mind that he(as well as Renae's mom) were(are) doing everything possible to find her. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, and I pray for a safe return of Renae.

Renae was last seen Saturday night around midnight, not Friday as the article states. The family is also doing everything in their power to find her. My daughter has been with Renae's sister from the time this was reported and the family has done nothing but try to contact every possible connection that Renae has.

Well I am not sure because I have never had to deal with it but if I am correct when you report a child missing the police make you wait 24 hours to file a report, so that leaves like 5 hours and I highly doubt that these parents are just sitting around home waiting for her to come home, they could have been out looking for her in the 5 hour period. My prayers are with the family of this girl. I am praying for her safe return.

If she was a child that was well-trusted, the time span before being reported missing would naturally be longer. Parents could have assumed she was at the last place she said she was going to. Regardless of the reason she is missing from her home, I hope that she is found soon and that she is safe. And if she did indeed run away, I hope that the reasons are resolved.

They didn't wait. I am a close family friend and they were looking that night for her. We have not heard anything from her and it seems that people are not taking this serious. She was picked up by a car at midnight out in rural turner county....I would be very worried as to who in the world picked her up. Please don't assume the parents are not doing everything they can to find her because they are.

she will return just keeping looking & if you really really want her back set your heart o it she will return

Last seen on 07/10/2009 @ midninght and the parents wait till 07/12/2009 @ 5:30PM to say she is missing? What happend to the 29.5 hours in between? I hope she is found safe. That seems like a lot of time to now know were your child is. With a friend, family...?
