High Court Refuses to Reinstate Refinery LawsuitThe state Supreme Court has refused to reinstate a lawsuit that challenged the Union County Commission's decision to rezone land for a proposed $10 billion oil refinery in southeastern South Dakota. The high court's unanimous ruling upholds a circuit judge's decision that a local resident and a group opposed to the refinery lacked legal standing to pursue their lawsuit against the county commission.
