South Dakota Supreme Court Says Schools Can Finance Funding Case

The South Dakota Supreme Court says School Districts can finance a lawsuit challenging the state's system for funding education.

The ruling overturns a decision by a circuit judge in Pierre, who said school districts have no legal standing to sue the state.

It's a big victory for roughly 100 school districts looking to sue the state, but the ruling was upsetting to Governor Rounds, "if local school boards want to keep spending even more money on this lawsuit, I would suggest that they talk to their local taxpayers before writing more checks to lawyers."
