New Jobs Expected in Day and Marshall Counties

Tools

Two companies are expected to bring up to 110 jobs to Day and Marshall counties in northeastern South Dakota.

One of the new businesses will set up a shop in a school that's closing.

Webster Area Development Corp. director Jeff Grobe says California-based Link It Software Corp. will open a call center in the Roslyn School in the next 90 days.

In Webster, Minneapolis-based Hypothesis Marketing expects to open a call center in an existing building within 60 days.

Grobe says the economic growth is fantastic in light of the poor national economy and unemployment in the region.

Day County's jobless rate was 6.4 percent in June. Marshall County's rate was 5 percent.
