Highmore Man Moves Up in International Group

Tools

A Highmore man who works as a criminal investigator for the South Dakota Brand Board has been picked to eventually lead the International Livestock Identification Association.

Shorty Zilverberg was elected alternate director at-large at the group's annual conference last month in Salt Lake City. He will work his way up to president in 2014.

The association, which promotes livestock identification in North America, is made up of states, Canadian provinces and Native American tribal nations where livestock brand recording, ownership
inspection or theft prevention practices are recognized by law.

Zilverberg has investigated livestock theft with the state Brand Board for 10 years.
