Republican Senator Chuck Grassley brought the health care debate to northwest Iowa today. Grassley hosted two town hall meetings in our area. One in Sibley and the other in George.

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley today held a town hall meeting today at the Community Room in George, Iowa. Al Kanengator was one of nearly 100 people today voicing there concerns over the health care debate.

Al says today's town hall wasn't nearly as explosive as one's seen around the country, "There was a few moments of contention you know, there was a gentleman who was kind of liberal who got up there and he's in a conservative part of the world, his views are in the minority, but you know he expressed his view."

The town hall in George was the Senator's 2nd of the day and he's hosted thousands in his career but recently the senator has seen a pattern. "The size was about 5 times what you normally have in Lyon County, another meeting I had earlier had 850 people come to it where normally you might have 100 so there's been tremendous concern about the future of America," said the Senator after today's Town Hall.

The concern about America's future extends directly to Al, "The administration we have now I think is probably going to jam something through. Even if they just get started on it they get a basic health plan in place I think they'll build on that and eventually take over the health care system."
