Tools

Gov. Mike Rounds is asking that all flags in South Dakota be flown at half-staff on Saturday in honor of an Ellsworth Air Force Base airman who died in combat in Afghanistan.

Staff Sgt. Bryan Berky of Melrose, Fla., was one of three U.S. troops killed in an ambush Sept. 12. He was a bomb disposal expert with the 28th Civilian Engineer Squadron, 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth.

Rounds is asking that flags be flown at half-staff on Saturday from 8 a.m. until sunset.

Berky's funeral is set for 11 a.m. Eastern time Saturday in Melrose.
