Funeral, Burial Being Held For Jewett

Tools

Korean War soldier Arthur Jewett is being laid to rest in South Dakota.

Jewett, an Army sergeant from White Horse, was killed during the war in 1950 but was listed as missing in action. His remains were recovered in 2002 from a mass grave in North Korea and returned to
South Dakota on Tuesday.

His funeral was being held Friday in Eagle Butte, with burial in White Horse. Gov. Mike Rounds asked that all flags in the state be flown at half-staff during the day.

Jennifer Schoeleman of White Horse, a niece of Jewett's, says it is an "awesome blessing" for the family to finally have him back home.
