The Matthew Schade family of Creighton, Nebraska has been missing now for over two weeks.

The Matthew Schade family of Creighton, Nebraska turned themselves in.

A Nebraska man who vanished for a time with his wife and children earlier this year has pleaded not guilty to charges in South Dakota's Pennington County, where he is accused of stealing a fire department truck.

Matthew Schade is charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, grand theft and petty theft.

Matthew and Rowena Schade vanished with their children from their Creighton, Neb., home in March after being questioned on domestic-abuse allegations. They turned themselves in 18 days later, after being the subjects of a search in South Dakota's Black Hills.

Rowena Schade faces a grand theft charge in South Dakota.

Prosecutors say Matthew Schade has three separate burglary convictions in Nebraska. He was sentenced last month in that state to up to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a gun. The sentence is to be served at the same time as other sentences, including a 12-to-36-month stint he received in June for violating probation.

Waste of money and time? How about the bill for the helicopter and SWAT team that just happened to do their training while looking for someone who wanted to disappear for a while because of disturbed family members threatening their lively hood. Would you be scared if you were threatened with your life and then had a swat team running through the woods with automatic weapons looking for you? If you don't know the whole story don't comment.

Those two people can't admit any quilt for anything, what a waste of taxpayer money and time.
