Car Collides With Semi, Semi Bursts Into Flames

By KSFY Staff

It was a scary drive in the snow near Beaver Creek, Minnesota last night.

A 2001 Dodge Durango was traveling west on I-90 at about 10:00 last night when the driver, forty-six year old Michael Blow of Sioux Falls, SD lost control, crossed the median and hit a semi head on.

According to the Beaver Creek Fire Department, the semi, driven by Raymond Thompson, 48, of Sartell, MN., blew a tire, almost went off the bridge and then it burst into flames. A third vehicle then lost control and hit the bridge embankment.

The Beaver Creek Fire Department says the driver of the truck and two other people who were involved were taken to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. All three were treated and released.

Beaver Creek is just east of Sioux Falls on Interstate 90.

Yes, kind of weird that they would get a statement from a fire dept about the cause of an accident. Should have gone to the State Patrol me thinks.

this is directed towards ?... Of course, if the fire dept responds, they have to follow up. Every agency that is on scene has to do some sort of report in a serious incident like this. Why are you so concerned about who the press talks to? Find something else to worry about and be thankful that there are people willing to do whatever they can to help in a traumatic event such as this.

Yes, they were there and put out a fire. Did they investigate the incident and why are they speculating as to the cause of the incident. I would think they would talk with a state trooper.

Considering the semi burst into flames, I would assume the fire department would be there? :)

Why interview the fire department? Are they investigating the incident?
