By Cliff Chandler

The McCook County Sheriff's Office, with the help of Second Chance Rescue Center of Sioux Falls, has seized 12 horses from a farm near Spencer. Charges against the owner are pending.

One of the horses has been taken to the Dakota Large Animal Clinic in Harrisburg for treatment. The others were turned over to the animal rescue center.

Officials told KSFY Action News that the horses are in poor condition and are in need of adequate food and shelter.

Second Chance Rescue Center can use your help to care for these horses. They are accepting donations of sweet feed, grass hay, and alfalfa. Monetary donations can be sent to Dakota Large Animal Clinic in Harrisburg to assist with medical expenses.
