Trial Set For SD Man Charged In Crash

Tools

A Belle Fourche man charged with vehicular homicide is set to go on trial early next year.

A judge has set Jan. 18 as the trial date for 19-year-old Timothy Berry, who is charged in the death of Billy Sexton III of Spearfish on June 21 near Orman Dam in Butte County.

Authorities say Sexton was hanging out the window of a pickup truck being driven by Berry when he fell and was run over. Berry was cited for driving under the influence and underage drinking.

He could face up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine if convicted of vehicular homicide.
