9-Year-Old Girl Hit by Train in Southeastern SF

By KSFY Staff

A 9-year-old girl was hospitalized in Sioux Falls with non-life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a train on the southeast side of the city. Police say the girl, a friend, and a dog were walking on the railroad tracks, the train's engineer saw the girls and blew his horn. The girls got off the tracks but the 9-year-old wandered back on. Police say that's when the train hit her.
