Minnehaha County Commission To Look At Unused H1N1 Shots

Minnehaha County received 300 doses of the H1N1 Vaccine. Emergency responders received their shot Wednesday night.

By KSFY Staff

Last Thursday Minnehaha County tried to vaccinate two-thousand people against the H1N1 Flu, but the county ended using less than half that amount.
Now the county commission will question emergency manager Lynn DeYoung about why so much of the vaccine had to be returned to the state.
The vaccinations given last Thursday were reserved for specific child care groups and at risk children.
Another H1N1 Clinic will be held at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds this Thursday from 3pm until 7pm.
Approximately 3000 vaccinations are available to the public that fall into the at risk or child caregiver categories.

This whole process is BULLS**T This should be FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. Invitation only? Thats pretty much saying that the kids who go to appletree are more important and have more priority than anyone else's children. This reminds me of the 1940's when all the white children were vaccinated before the rest. STUPID.

Well if you called the H1N1 hotline they told me the first priority if the tier 1 people, not specific Daycares on invition only. That was DeYoung and the Committe desicion adn don't let her tell you it wasn't. I called the H1N1 hotline also I talked to the POD department in Vermillion adn they could not believe Sioux Falls was doing it that way. Plus I might have inside info about the whole situation too!!

Why not divide the clinic for 2 tiers and do tier 1 from 3-5 and offer tier 2 a shot fro 5-7.

that's what happens when you have "invitation only" vaccinations. then when they decided to open it to the public, no one found out about it. so quit your crying about it. you had your chance, you blew it. now the rest of the state gets vaccinated and the republic of sioux falls can wait for the next batch.
