Not All H1N1 Vaccines Given At Clinic For Second Week In A Row

By KSFY Staff

To protect themselves from falling ill to the H1N1 virus, hundreds of people lined up hours before a public H1N1 vaccine clinic got underway at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls Thursday night.

Despite a steady flow of people during the four hour event, not all available H1N1 vaccine was used.

Officials say they were constantly busy tonight and everyone who arrived did get vaccinated.

Over 3100 doses of vaccine were available but they only used just over 2000.

Parents who did decide to bring their kids tonight say they'll be getting back in line when their tier is brought to the top: "It's been nice for us to get ours but we are doing okay and we will get ours when the time is right," said Jay Tripp, whose son was vaccinated.

The state will be given control of the unused vaccine. It could be brought to an H1N1 clinic at the fairgrounds tentatively planned for next Thursday, but that's not for sure just yet. We will keep you posted.
