By Jim Nelson

29 year old Eric Oldre of Sioux Falls has been arrested in connection with an overnight hit and run. Oldre was removed from an apartment building at 2908 South Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls.

The arrest came after police were notified that the apparent vehicle involved in the accident was in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

At approximately 1:10 Friday morning, 21 year old Beau Brady of Yankton was found lying in the street just west of the intersection of 41st street and Western Avenue, the victim of an apparent hit and run.

Witnesses say Brady was crossing the intersection when he was struck by a black Pontiac. After striking the pedestrian, the suspect sped off leaving the man bleeding and unresponsive in the road.

Brady is being treated at Sanford Medical Center for life-threatening injuries where he has been upgraded from critical to serious condition. His family tells Action News he has a broken arm, leg and possible rib injuries.

Brady is a sophomore at the University of South Dakota. He was in Sioux Falls for a concert and to celebrate his 21st birthday.

Meanwhile, Oldre has been charged with DUI, vehicular battery and felony hit and run.

AND you are pathetic and are going no where if you truely believe that if thats how "real" city drinkers do it but driving because that are so drunk. Real cool. I think your view would change on that and you wouldnt feel like such a tough guy if that happened to your family and it wasnt their fault AT ALL

To AM BONARAMA: I hope you read this 1) Beau was walking to a buddies after leaving the bar celebrating his 21st birthday that was on monday and he waiting until thursday to celebrate it 2) he WAS in the crosswalk and DID have to right of way 3) He may be from a small town but went to school in Arizona for his few years which is probably much larger than where you are from and he's not stupid enough to drive 4) You are heartless to even begin to say it is possibly his fault. Think about it

it sounds like somebody that was scared, to just run off like that, i don't think it was anything intentional or on purpose. but such a tragedy. that could've been anyone of us on either end of those avenues. i feel for their families

Left him for dead? LOSER! I feel bad for his family and friends who now have to consider all this mess. You hit a pedestrian and run away, you should do serious time. Alcohol is a very confusing drug, and you are NOT yourself when you use it - so dont get drunk - drink responsibily.

Now if your buddy dies dont go spray painting the street- 1:00am, both were up to no good. Go where angels fear to tread then cry about it when you run into the devil

So you small town drinkers who walk accross a 6 lane need to watch out when you in the city. Drunks drink so much here they cant walk so they have to drive.

Wow, what a F*&@ing pathetic loser to leave a man for dead on a city street in the middle of the night after you hit him when you were drunk. If you are 29 years old, you should really know better. Call a freaking cab or friend already!! No excuse...no excuse! And to almost kill a human and leave him for dead on the road!?! Anyone else see a BIG problem here? How drunk was this guy? Probably won't know. Pray for Beau...
